Production of medical thermometers began. The STIL company was founded by Jacques Rivet, a trained glassblower.

1947
STIL diversified its offering towards the manufacturing of thermometers for professionals and mercury barometers and stopped manufacturing medical thermometers.

The company continues to diversify into the consumer market, with a range for household use.

The company acquired Drissler-Leroux, a company specialising in the Torricelli barometer, which is very well established in the market for opticians.

STIL develops its production processes by creating different partnerships in Asia, especially with manufacturers of measuring instruments.

Gérard Lux and his son Patrick took over the company.

Opening of an office in Shanghai and establishment of a partnership with a French quality control company.
